This past weekend, Carrie, Mandy and I hosted a "rubber duck" themed baby shower for our good friend Melanie. Melanie and Adam are expecting their baby boy, lovingly called "Smudge", in June. We had a really great evening filled with games, food, dessert and fun...

We played several different games, including a really fun Mad Libs Birthing story and a "Lucky Duck" game where everyone picked a rubber duck, each corresponding to a task intended to pamper Melanie during the shower (serve her dinner, hand her gifts, give a hand massage, etc.).
We also played a baby product guessing game where each letter of "W-e-l-c-o-m-e S-m-u-d-g-e" corresponded to a hidden baby product and "Whose Your Mama" Celebrity mother/child guessing game which very quickly separated those of us who regularly read USweekly magazine or consume other pop culture news.
Appetizers: Roasted Pepper and Goat Cheese "Empa-mamas," "Maryland" Crab Cakes, "Smudge's" Roasted yam and onion dip with rosemary pita crisps, and "Baby boy" Bruschetta.
And for the main entree: Salad, Lasagna, and Stuffed Shells
